Cougar Marching Band Alumni Association!

2010 was an outstanding year for the Cougar Band Alumni!

Our group’s philanthropic endeavors allowed us to award six $1,000 scholarships outstanding UH Marching band students. For our efforts the Cougar Band Alumni was recognized by the Houston Alumni Organization with the prestigious Gold Banner Award for the fourth year in a row. This is the highest award given to alumni organizations by the Houston Alumni Organization. At the 2010 Homecoming Tailgate Challenge we were awarded the “Best Alma Mater Singing” and $500 in scholarship funds from the University of Houston Alumni Association.

We also have a Band Parents Yahoo Group—UHBANDS-PARENTS –at www.yahoogroups.com. that has just started to help keep band parents abreast of activities that are ongoing. Hopefully it will give you a place to plug and help in our efforts to raise scholarship funds for the band.
