Cougar Marching Band Alumni Association!

2008 was an outstanding year for the Cougar Band Alumni!

Our group’s philanthropic endeavors included a contribution to the 2008 Operation School Supplies program and the awarding of six $1,000 scholarships outstanding UH Marching band students. For our efforts the Cougar Band Alumni was recognized by the Houston Alumni Organization with the prestigious Gold Banner Award for the third year in a row. This is the highest award given to alumni organizations by the Houston Alumni Organization.

There is a Facebook group for people who wish to join from the Mayes years. This group is run by Cynthia McTigue McGowen—the group name is University of Houston Cougar Marching Band - The Robert Mayes Years

We also have a Band Parents Yahoo Group—UHBANDS-PARENTS –at www.yahoogroups.com. that has just started to help keep band parents abreast of activities that are ongoing. Hopefully it will give you a place to plug and help in our efforts to raise scholarship funds for the band.
